At Session (“we”, “us”, “our”), we respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy informs you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website, use the Session mobile application, or drop into our managed VRChat instances, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to provide the Session matchmaking service:

  • Identity Data: Includes your VRChat username, display name, and associated internal VRChat IDs.
  • Authentication Data: We store temporary, encrypted Session Cookies issued by the VRChat API. We never store your VRChat password.
  • Profile Data: Includes your selected Vibe Tags, biographical information you provide to us, and your Match Config parameters.
  • Aura & Reputation Data: Aggregated scores based on endorsements and reports from other users.
  • Financial Data: If you upgrade to Session+ or operate as a SessionPro, payment transactions are handled securely by third-party processors (e.g., Apple, Google, Stripe). We do not store your full credit card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to:

  • Authenticate your account and ensure you own the VRChat avatar you claim.
  • Facilitate highly accurate matchmaking and invite you to private VRChat instances.
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of the platform (via the Aura system).
  • Process your subscription payments.

3. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. If you delete your Session account, your profile data, match history, and authentication tokens are immediately purged from our active databases.
